Every donor on our platform has an account, and every account is connected to a unique email address. As a result, if you (or your donor) uses two different names while making a donation using the same email address, the second donation's details will update the first. So, for example:
On January 1, you enter a donation as "John Smith" using [email protected]
On January 2, you enter a donation as "Smith family" using [email protected]
The result will be that BOTH donations now appear as "Smith family", because the email address is now associated with the "Smith family" name.
If you want to avoid this situation, either use a different email address, or if you're entering your donors' donations, use the virtual terminal in your account, which will automatically create a fake email address if you don't have a unique one for your donor.
